Last Post of This Year!

We'll this definitely isn't my first post of this year, but it will probably be my last! I am looking forward to a new year! I don't really have any resolutions for next year, only to watch my health a little bit more and to not  hurt myself. My stomach has been getting better and I am almost ready to get out of the house. I have only gotten out of the house a couple of times since the end of June, but not too far and not for that long. The farthest that I have been these past couple of months has only been a few miles, I had to go to my heart doctor to go get a check up, which I think is about 10 miles away from my house, but other than that I haven't gone that far. I have been trying to get out of the house, but wasn't able to go that far. The farthest that I have been since September was the Toyota dealership to get my car's oil changed and my aunt's house to celebrate Christmas, which are only a couple of miles away from my house. I have been feeling ...

One Year Anniversary of my Matrix!

Image
Today is the day that I got my Matrix. Last year on Dec. 26, 2012, my dad and me went to the Toyota dealership and bought my 11' Matrix. It had about 42,500 miles when my dad bought it and now it has about 54,500 miles! It still drives and looks great! Maybe just a few scratches... I'm not that great at parking.....

Merry Christmas 2013!

Merry Christmas everybody! I hope you all had a merry Christmas, for those that celebrate Christmas, or at least a good day for those that don't.

The Cat!

What do you know about the cat? Season 1 coming soon!

Oh, Joy!

Image
It looks like we are going to get some more warm temperatures again this week! Then we'll get some more cold early next week.... These are some pictures that I took of my houses back yard today. The morning was a little cold, but the high temperature supposedly got to 72 degrees during the afternoon. It felt a little warm/slightly cool. But it looks like we are going to get a few more warm days until another arctic cold front passes through and it becomes cold again. We may also get some severe storms later this week, so I am going to need to keep an eye on that! I was watching the weather channel today and they said that east Texas is going to have a torcon of 5/10 when the severe storms pass through sometime Friday, Saturday, or early Sunday. So, I guess that means that Houston has a 50% chance of seeing a tornado! Uh-oh, that's not good! I hope that changes. And here is a picture of the pile of leaves that I began raking today. I haven't really go...

Are You Ready?

Image
Are you ready for self driving cars? As I was scanning my Twitter wall, my eye caught a glimpse of a link to a video about Volvo's self driving cars. I decided to watch the video and was amazed at how well the car drove all on it's own. And as I was watching this video about Volvo's self driving cars, a thought came to me. Are we ready? Are we ready to have self driving cars driving on public roads? Well this video makes it seem like we are. I am not sure how soon it will be before we start seeing self driving cars up for sale, but I think they are going to start selling them soon. Maybe within a couple of years. I am ready! I am not against self driving cars, although I like to drive. I am supportive of them because of the safety self driving cars will bring to it's driver. They said that most accidents are caused by human error, so I think they will eliminate most accidents. I just hope they will prevent any computer errors. There is still alot of work to be done...

Looking Forward to Some Warmer Weather!

Image
The weather forecasters are forecasting low temperatures in the 50's and highs in the 70's, possibly some 80's, this week! I am really looking forward to a nice long break from the cold that we got last week and I wish it would stay warm, but the weather forecasters are thinking that another arctic front is going to pass through on Friday. I am not sure how cold the temperatures are going to get, but with words like "arctic" I know that it is going to get cold again. I am hoping that it won't get that cold and that the cold will only last a couple of days, instead of a week, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see. At least I get to enjoy some nice warm temps in the 70's, maybe 80's before the arctic front! Also NOAA forecasted a above average winter, so I am hoping we won't get too many of these arctic cold fronts, but they said that there is a possibility that they could be wrong, so I'll just have to hope. Maybe if they are wron...

Happy Thanksgiving 2013!

Image
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I hope y'all had a happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving

I am looking forward to sitting down and eating Thanksgiving dinner with my family and am looking forward to some warmer weather after Thanksgiving. I've had enough of this cold! I do enjoy the cold when it snows, but it's not going to and I've had enough of this cold, clouds, and rain! I can't wait until the temperatures warm back up. The temperature is supposed to get back into the 50's and 70's on Sunday, or Monday. Also it is going to be sunny. I can't wait to see the sun! I haven't seen the sun in awhile. Even though it will be sunny tomorrow, it is supposed to going to be cold. Temperatures are forecasted to be almost freezing tomorrow morning and the high is only going to get into the high 40's, but at least. I will finally get to see the sun! I can't wait to see the sun! I wonder what it's been up to? Hey has anybody noticed how bright the sun has been lately? I've noticed since the beginning of November the sun has been bright...

Hoping For Some Possible Sleet Tuesday

Image
I read on the NOAA weather report this morning that there is a slight chance of some sleet, or maybe snow for Houston on Tuesday and I am hoping to see some sleet, or snow. Houston has been getting alot of sleet, snow weather these past couple of years since 2008. Houston does have a climate for some possible snow every year, but Houston rarely gets to see any snow, or winter participation. The only time that I saw snow in Houston was back on Dec. 4, 2009, when Houston got an inch of snow. The only other time that I had seen Houston get any winter precipitation was a year before in Dec. 2008, when Houston got a winter mix of sleet and rain. We actually had a sleet and snow storm on the Christmas eve of 2004 in Houston. I would say it was my first white Christmas. Only about an half an inch, or less of  the sleet and snow had accumulated on the ground during Christmas eve when most of the sleet and snow fell. The sleet and snow were still on the leaves of the trees on Christmas mo...

Protect Your Pets!

Image
Hi, I don't know if any of y'all read Scambusters, or have heard of this scam before, but I wanted to share it with y'all just in-case. As I told y'all before I get a email from Scambusters every Wednesday notifying me of the latest scams and yesterday I read about the worst scam ever. This scam involves stealing your pets! I think that's terrible that someone would steal your pet and then try and resale it. Luckily Simon is too afraid to go outside anyway, so I don't have to worry about him getting stolen. I just wanted to tell y'all about this to make sure that if you let your pets outside to make sure that they are tagged and that if you are looking to buy a pet, to make sure that it is from a reliable source and not someone's stolen pet! That's horrible! Here's the link to the article if any of you want to read it. http://www.scambusters.org Joining Michelle in her Cat Thursdays, click the link to join in, or see other entries.  http...

Almost Over!

Our first arctic cold front just passed through, the temperature supposedly got into the mid 30's this morning, where I live, I haven't checked yet. Fall is almost over! Winter is almost here, just one month and twenty days away! Not that it really matters over here in Houston, but I really don't like the winters over here because the temperatures make too many drastic changes, one day it is cold and then the next day it is warm, which is just really frustrating to deal with, make up your mind, warm, or cold. I really just wish it would stay warm. I can't wait for spring! Joining Josie Two Shoes in her Two Shoes Tuesday, click the link to join in, or see other entries,  http://www.josie2shoes.com/

Shinning Angel

Image
There was that view of a shinning angel, as Jerry biked down that path. Jerry was having a feeling for adventure that morning, before he left for school. That late sunny afternoon, after school was over, Jerry decided to pedal his bike towards downtown as fast as he could, he pedaled hard, faster and faster, not wanting to stop! Until he saw it again, saw that shinning angel, in her giant smiling face, looking down on all of the cities citizens, going to and fro about their business. Jerry really liked the angel and enjoyed seeing it every time he ventured into town. He always wondered about it, but not much was ever said, not even his parents knew much about it, but then again Jerry didn't want to tell his parents that he'd been in downtown without them. "Your not supposed to ride your bike that far!" They would scold Jerry every time he would come home late from school. Jerry knew that he was going to get some scolding this time too, but he didn't care. He jus...

Happy Halloween 2013!

Image
Happy Halloween! So we  had a few kids come to our door. We gave out some peanut M&M's and I dressed up as Santa Claus! I'm not sure if they liked it. Merry Christmas! Um....I mean happy Halloween! Also my mom made caramel turtle brownies!

Howl's Eve

Image
Watching the sun set, the guy ran towards his house, hoping to get inside, he knew that night was coming, and that the thing he dreaded the most would soon be here. He patted his calico cat as he was preparing to go inside, but just before he could get inside, a gust of wind blew and slammed the door to his house shut, his calico cat had just managed to slip inside, but the guy didn't make it in, he was alone, and couldn't find his house keys. As the guy was trying to sneak around to the back of his house, to see if the back door was open, he heard a growl and then another growl, the growl got louder as he got closer to the back of his house. The growl was coming from the trash can behind his house, the guy lifted the trash cans lid, it was him, the thing he dreaded the most, it was the neighborhood RACCOON! The guy started to panic, knocking frantically on his houses back door, his little sister saw him, and she opened the door, the guy ran inside, sweat all down his face, br...

Halloween!

Image
The evening will be quiet, there will be no noise, all the children will be standing still, by their window sill, waiting for night to fall, they will all have a ball. Putting on costumes, putting up decorations, and finding the right candy bowls, before sun fall, when the children will all be out, with their costumes that will make their neighbors filled with freight, their eyes will be searching for the nearest house that will fill their taste buds with delight, children will be screaming, laughing, and playing in the streets that night, the night of Halloween! So Much For Saving The Trees

Image
Since finding out that our trees have not gotten enough water and having seen two oak trees fall down last year, I have been trying to save the last remaining trees that are still left. I have been trying to water them at least three times per week with just a sprinkle of water. I only gave them a sprinkle of water because I didn't want to put too much at once and have them fall over, like the two oak trees that fell over in the front yard last year. The oak trees fell over because there base is shallow and when Houston had that drought in 2011 and then got all that rain in 2012, the oak trees couldn't take all of the water at once, so they fell over. So now I have been trying to save the trees that are left, but it seems like I am too late and that they are already starting to fall over. It looks like some of them might fall over tonight, or this coming week. We are supposed to get alot of rain, maybe 2 inches this week, plus with the wind. I saw a small tree branch fall to...

Not Sure What to Say

I've been feeling pretty sorrowful these past couple of months, not being able to get out more than a mile away from my house has put me in a pretty sorrowful mood, but these last couple of weeks, to my surprise since the beginning of September, I have been getting better and have begun walking and driving, although I haven't been able to drive that far yet, just around my neighborhood, but I think I will be able to start driving out of my neighborhood soon, I hope, but at least I am starting to feel better. I have been able to walk around my house and back yard with alot more ease. Thinking about how I have not been able to walk much, or drive has made me pretty sorrowful, but I am happy to say that I am getting better and hope to be better soon. I Made a Veggie Burger Today

Image
It's a Five Guys style veggie burger! It is just a burger with all of the veggies, but without the meat.I found some left over English Muffins and then put melted American cheese, pickles, mayonnaise, lettuce, ketchup, and mustard, in between the two English muffins. It was good, it tasted just like a Five Guys veggie burger, sort of. Joining Cate from Show my Face in her 6WS, click the link below to join in, or see other entries.  http://www.showmyface.com

The Cat's Shadow

It was early morning just before sunrise, when Jeremy decided to take the trash out early. He didn't want to have to get up early when the sun was up and then go back to sleep. Jeremy wasn't very good at going back to sleep when the sun was up, once the sun was up he was up. Unlike his older brother who would stay up all night and sleep during the day. But this night Jeremy had stayed up late and it was only a couple of hours until sunrise. Even though it was night, Jeremy wasn't scared, but was delighted. The season's first fall cold front had just passed through and Jeremy was enjoying the cool, calm air. In this cool, calm air, Jeremy walked happily along pulling the trash can down his houses driveway. There was no one to be found, not a sound, nor a sight of any living thing. That's when Jeremy's imagination started to grow wild. "Where, what, was that?" He thought to himself. Jeremy's imagination was starting to make Jeremy see every creepy...

Things That I've Been Thinking About Lately

I spend alot of my time thinking rather than talking. People always say that I am quiet, although I never really thought of myself as quiet. I'm just not that much of a talker. I enjoy thinking more than I enjoy talking. Since I haven't been able to get out much recently. I have been spending most of my time thinking about things, like what I want to do with my life, and places that I want to go. There have been alot of different career paths that I've wanted to pursue since I graduated high school a couple of years ago. At first I wanted to be a race car driver, but that was probably never going to work out. Then I wanted to work with animals, but I couldn't think of anything that I wanted to do with them except be a vet tech, but then I realized that I didn't want to have to inject the animals with needles and that I wasn't really going to enjoy being a vet tech if that's what I had to do. I also wanted to become a meteorologist because I love weather a...

Under The Cats Eye

Image
http://www.amazon.com/ One of my favorite books about a boy at a boarding school that finds a cat that is from another world and he tries to save her. I don't want to say anything more than that except that it is a awesome book and that you should read it! It is one of my favorite animal books that involves a cat and a dog, but the cat is one of the main characters. Which is why I thought it would be a good book share on Cat Thursday. But it is really a good book for anybody that loves animals. A good read if you haven't read it, you should check it out! Peace!

Image
Here's a story inspired by the 70's movie that I watched on YouTtube yesterday called "Two-Lane Blacktop" I do not understand the 70's! "Peace!" She said as she got on to the bus that was going to her supposed college. Her parents were really happy for her, but her siblings were worried. They didn't think that she was really going to college. She had hardly packed anything and was talking about wanting to travel across the country. Had she lied to their parents? Were was she actually going? The bus dropped her off at a bus station at the next town. Once she got off, she held her thump up. A universal sign that she wanted to hitch a ride. A huge white dry van pulled over. She felt the cold steel bar as she climbed in, there were refrigeration stickers all over. "Where you headed?" Asked the driver. "Up north" She said. The driver just nodded. "Well, i'm going into the next town to deliver, you can ride with me if...

Homemade Pizza Bread Pizzas

Image
Here's a picture of the pizza bread pizzas that my mom made the other day, but these pizzas are a little bit different. There are not made with English muffins, but with just regular sandwich bread. Admittedly, I wasn't very excited about the switch at first, but they actually tasted good with the regular sandwich bread.  My mom first toasted the bread then melted some thin slices of butter on them. After that she put the sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and black olives, then she heated them back up, to melt the cheese and sauce. I thought they tasted good, maybe even better than the English muffin pizzas.

Homemade Vegetable Rice

Image
On Saturday my mom made some veggie rice for dinner. She cooked white rice with soy sauce to brown the rice then she added the fried vegetables and eggs. I think she also put some spaghetti noodles in it. The vegetables that she put in were soybeans, carrots, and maybe some onions and mushrooms. I don't know, i'm not sure. I'll have to ask her.

Getting Some More Isolated Storms Today

Image
Got some more isolated showers and thunderstorms today from a cold front and maybe a spinning low. The weather forecasters said that we might get our first real fall cold front next weekend. I'm looking forward to it! Joining Cate in her 6WS, click the box below to join in and see other entries.

Closing The Closet

Image
As she was going to bed, she could her voices screaming, from down the stairs. Her baby brother was having a fight with her dad again about wanting to stay up late, so that he could watch his favorite TV show. "But it's only just this once!" Screamed her baby brother. "Ok, just this once." Said the father. Joining Joise Two Shoes in her Six Sentence Stories, click the link to join in and see other entries.  http://www.josie2shoes.com/

Letter to Myself

September 24, 2013 Tear drops of joy fell down my face when heavy rain was falling down outside of my house last Friday. I had been much anticipating the rain fall all week and was really glad to see it, just as the weather forecasters had predicted. I think at least five inches of rain fell in and around Houston, TX. I had tears of joy, seeing all that heavy rain, hour after hour. Sometimes getting distracted by other things, but my mind was always on the rain, I watched it fall outside of my houses windows. Steadily, ever so steadily until it stopped at around 10 pm. There didn't look to be any flooding, or storm damage from what I could see, after the rain stopped, maybe just the usual common puddles, or over flowing ditch that is always flooded after every storm, but nothing drastic though. There were some reports of bad flooding in and around Houston, but, not in my area. My area usually doesn't get any major flooding, except for one time when my area got fifteen inch...
