2011 Matrix, My Car!

Image
exterior Cool, retro style odometer The roadrunner doesn't come with the car. It had been in my dad's store for years; no one wanted it. I thought it was cool, so I wanted to do something with it. I decided to hang it of off my cars rear view mirror. I think it looks nice. Key less entry, yay! Really glad to have this. The Camry doesn't have this and it is really frustrating trying to get the animals cages in and the doors unlocked at the same time. Nice auxiliary port for my mp3 player, so I can listen to my music. It also has five seats that all fold down, except for the drivers I think. It will be good for fitting animals cages, my bike and other things in (Christmas tree, tired of trying to fit in the trunk, or trying to tie it on to the roof). ( all of the pictures are from me, except from the last one with the seats folded down. that one came from Edmund's.)  http://www.edmunds.com/   It also gets 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the fre

Resolutions!

Image
Going to join Brenda in her Pondering With a Purpose this week. No more pictures, going to do some writing today.... It's that time of year again! Time to make a resolution for the new year, already? Yup! We'll if any of you remember my last New Year's resolution was to listen to the song Rome from the B-52's everyday until the end of the year. I got to March and forgot to listen to the song and ended up getting tired of listening to it. Now it's time for another New Year! I don't know of any New Year's resolutions to make except to manage my time and finances a little bit better, like food and gas etc; gas for my new car! I'll tell y'all later in my next post! Anyway.... Joining Brenda in her Pondering with a Purpose, click the box below to join in, or see other entries. "/>

Celebrated my birthday yesterday, bought some trick candles by accident. I had to make a few attempts at blowing out the candles before I found out that they were trick ones. It's ok we got them all out eventually. Joining Cate in her 6WS, click the box below to join in, or see other entries.

Shoes!

Image
Going to join a new meme today called Two Shoes Tuesday from Josie Two Shoes! How it works is each week Josie writes a one word prompt where you can then share a short story, poem, essay, thought, or, photo relating to that word. We'll since today's topic is about shoes...... These are my current ones! They are just regular tennis shoes that my dad got me last Christmas! As far as shoes go I usually like to get running shoes, like the ones pictured below..... These are my old shoes. I've had them since late 2007. I still use them, just not as often. Only when I have to get into the mud or, dirt. Or, when I feel like running, since they are running shoes! The only thing that I don't like about running shoes is that I slip easily when I walk on wet tiles. My new ones pictured above have a flat surface so, I don't slip as easily.... I like my new shoes better but, I sometimes miss my old running shoes! I like to run so, running shoes have always been my choice

Not Good Day to be Outside!

Image
We had alot of scattered showers and thunderstorms today in Houston. I saw a lightning bolt strike the ground right in front of me when I was driving, the ground shook, it was pretty cool. Joining Cate in her 6WS, click the box below to join in or, see other entries.

Nature Report 8!

Image
Hey and welcome to another edition of Nature Report!!!! Blue jay! I wonder if it's the one that I rescued? I doubt it. Some sign that I saw remembering the judge and commissioners of Harris County. I saw it near the trail that I ride on, there are alot of signs like this around there. I wonder why? White Dove? I think this is a white dove. And I think the above two pictures are of a mocking bird, i'm pretty sure. This is a bird that has been keeping me company along with the white dove when I was holding a sign for my dad's store. That's what I've been doing lately, I've been holding a sign for my dad's from 10am to 12pm for the past couple of weeks now. It's not that bad. I like to be outdoors! Skink! That's what type of lizard this is. They can have brown or, blue tails. I don't think they come in any other kind of colors, I've only heard of brown and blue. The blue color (I just read) means that it is a juvenile.

Nature and Galveston Trip Pics!

Image
Opossum! Don't know what this is? Looks like a mini snake or, a type of worm. Light brown or, yellow spider, don't know what type of spider it is. Some statue in the middle of Galveston. Nice colorful Galveston pier! The birds seem happy! Wonder why? Lots of dead fish littered the Galveston and Texas coast on Sunday August 12, not a great day to go the beach. You can read about it here,  http://www.kens5.com/news/ Some early 1900's or, late 1800's house that I took a picture of in Galveston, TX, look at the birds in the trees, can't really tell what type of bird they are. I didn't see them when I took the picture. Bridge that connects to Galveston. Back to good old Houston! Ok, that's it! I hope to bring y'all more! See y'all later!

Nature Report 6!

Image
About these: I wasn't supposed to talk about them so, shh!!!! Spider eggs, we find them every summer, usually near the entrance.... One of the baby spiders. Adult, spider that I think laid the eggs. Black bellied whistling ducks, I think these are whistling ducks, found in George Bush Park. They have a red bill, long orange legs, black belly, and a large white patch on the back of it's wings. I was going to ride my bike to Cinco Ranch but, the path was still flooded from all the rain that we had gotten last month. I probably could have made it but, I was afraid of finding a snake or, alligator. I saw something moving in under the water when I was taking this picture, I think it might have been an alligator. I think this is the Mark's Ranch but, i'm not sure, you know that thing that I talked about before.  http://josephsreallife.blogspot.com Another week exploring nature, oh! And I forgot! I don't know if i'm supposed to s
