Halloween!
The evening will be quiet, there will be no noise,
all the children will be standing still, by their window sill,
waiting for night to fall, they will all have a ball.
Putting on costumes, putting up decorations, and finding the right candy bowls,
before sun fall, when the children will all be out, with their costumes that will make their neighbors filled with freight,
their eyes will be searching for the nearest house that will fill their taste buds with delight,
children will be screaming, laughing, and playing in the streets that night, the night of Halloween!

It is fun to watch the kids, too! I especially enjoy the little ones, with their big eyes filled with excitement! Happy Halloween, Joseph!
ReplyDeleteYa it's interesting to see what they dress up as. Thanks you too! : )
DeleteA delightful tribute to the fun of Halloween night as a child, and I love your accompanying photo too, Joseph! :-) Now that we live out in the country we don't get any little goblins at our door, and I really miss those days. I remember how fun it was when I was young, and my own children remember the great costumes they got to wear. I think you captured the feeling of it very well here, thanks for joining us at Two Shoes Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, we don't get many children from my neighborhood either, my neighborhood is kind of secluded and not many people give out candy, so only a few kids come to my house. So my family and I usually end up having to eat all of the left over candy. : )
DeleteYour bear picture is near, Joseph. I am thinking he is from your household and someone there, you (??) dressed him up for Halloween. I like to watch the kids and my own kids trick or treat. I would accompany them. I never went myself as we lived on a farm.
ReplyDeleteThis year we have Houston Cougar tickets at Reliant Stadium on Halloween night. It will also be on ESPN if the storm is too bad for us to drive down.
GO COUGARS!!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, JOSEPH!!!
..
Lol, no actually it's a witch cat that I got from elementary school. I think there used to be a little Halloween story attached to the back of it, but I tore it of.
DeleteThat sounds fun! I looked up the weather forecast this morning and they said that they think that the heavy rain will end sometime during the evening, so hopefully you will be able to go!
Thanks you too!!! : )
When our children were much younger Australia attempted to embrace Halloween but apart from neighborhoods with like minded families it went over like a lead balloon. I think it may be celebrated more quietly and less intrusively now which is shame as the kids loved it. However supermarkets have pumpkins on special at the moment!
ReplyDeleteThat's sad. It does seem that Halloween has lost some of it's glamour here in the U.S. also. I think we only had one, or two kids come to our door last year, but I think it is trying to make a comeback. I think there is too much marketing involved for Halloween to be lost forever, with the horror movies and free candy!
DeleteLol, I keep forgetting to go get some. I wanted to make some jack o' lanterns and put them in front of my houses door.
: )
as adults we used to have a day of the dead party where everyone came dressed up like someone you knew who had passed on...everyone told a little special something about the person... I always came as my dad who had really bad taste in clothing... so it was a fun costume! Have a happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteLol! Sorry about your dad. Thanks you too!

Thanks, you too! : )
