Nature Report!

Peacocks: Peacock 1: "I don't know.... what do you think?"                        Peacock 2: " Well.... it's got a pool!"  Some mushroom I found in my front yard. Green tree frog! Not much to say about them. They don't seem to be getting much better. I named them yesterday, The orange one's (middle) name is Jr. and one of the brown one's (bottom) name is dinosaur or, Little D, and the other brown one's (top) name is Richard or, Richie, he's the biggest one. Then hopefully we will be able to find a way to get rid of whatever's been bothering them. And now time to honor a dear friend, I found him in the garage, i'm not sure what happened, it was all black and it stinks. The only thing that I could recognize of him was his tail. I think he's been there for about a week. Sad to see he is gone. Bye my dear friend, I'll miss you! And on that sad note, good bye and I hope to see y'all again next week

Nature Report 5!

Longhorn beetle? I think this is a longhorn beetle. I don't know what type of spider this is, I thought it was a brown recluse but, it was black some i'm not sure. By the way don't look up brown recluse spider on Google images, just don't! Muscovy duck, it is a type of duck . I've learned that they are hardy and shouldn't be feed wet food or, they could aspirate, meaning their lungs are have too much water in them. That is what happened to the ducks that were taken to the shelter. The people that feed them before they gave them to the shelter, fed them wet bread that is causing most of them to aspirate and get pneumonia. Speaking of ducks, I hope they recover, i'm pretty sure that other one was put to sleep. They were being taken care of by a supervisor who has been giving them shots, they said they will tell me how they are doing, will let y'all know once I find out! Black and Yellow butterfly that I saw while riding my bike on the trail, th

Went to Volunteer Orientation at CAP!

Image
Today I went to the CAP (citizens for animal protection) volunteer orientation. I decided to go because the bird program at TWRC ends in August and I don't really like to do the center volunteer work so, I decided that I should go volunteer and the next nearest shelter which is CAP! It is a big brand new shelter but, it has been around since 1972. There are alot of other reasons why I wanted to join CAP. The first is I would like to take care of the cats and help get them adopted and second is that they train you and teach you how to treat the animals and customers which will be a good learning lesson for me. Also might be good on my resume. But, before I get too excited, i'm not a volunteer there yet. There are four steps to becoming a volunteer. The first is being invited to the orientation, then they give you classes and train you. Where you will then be mentored before you become an official volunteer. They said it could take several weeks until you become an off
