Born A to Z

Image
I was born on December 14, 1989, a couple of miles from where I currently live, in Houston, TX. http://www.brandonseidel.com/ Cool things that happened on that day. I couldn't find many cool things that happened on the day that I was born, but I did find this! ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkey_Day ) Monkey Day! Which started on December 14, 2000, very cool! I'm going to start celebrating it every December 14!

Asia A to Z

Image
Well, what a minute, I am not calling myself Asian, but I am part Middle Eastern, so I have some Asian in me. I've always liked the Asians. I like all cultures. I have 4, or maybe 5 different ethnicities in me, so I am not one culture. I live in America, or the United States, where there are a bunch of different cultures. http://planet.infowars.com/weird-news/the-22-maps Here is a interesting map of the United States. Check out other interesting maps of the United States in the link below the picture. So anyway, back to Asia! That is where half of me is from, but not to write too much, i'll leave the rest for my next posts! I hope y'all will rejoin me, bye!

Regret: Water Colors!

Image
I may regret writing this post past 12 am, but I won't regret writing this post for Josie's Two Shoes Tuesday! : ) Ok, actually I am going to bed...I'll finish my post later! Well speaking of later, on the subject of regret, I regret going to the store on Wednesday to get a water color book instead of ordering it online. I had to go to three different stores (Kroger, Walgreens, and Office Depot) to find a water color book, but none of them had one, except for office depot, sort of. It was a multi-media book, not officially a watercolor book, but it worked! The reason why I wanted to get water color paper is because the regular office paper gets wet and the water colors seep through. The water color paper is strong enough to hold the water colors and doesn't get wet and seep through. Picture of the sketch book that I bought from Office Depot. With the water color paper, from Office Depot. Without the water color paper, just regular office paper....

It's Almost The First Day of Spring!

Image
I like the spring time the most because it is after winter and it was when school ended and summer vacation started! The above picture is just of a silly picture that I drew on March 1, to celebrate it being March 1, and winter being almost over. Three days later Houston had it's biggest winter storm of the year, which was ironically named winter storm, Titan, I think. The winter storm brought more than a .25 inch of ice and supposedly .05 inches of snow. That was pretty big for Houston, especially in March! The only time that Houston got snow in March was back in 1932, where the weather stations recorded .08 inches of snow on March 10th and 11th. So anyway, yay Spring, I can't wait! The weather forecasters are forecasting it to be a warm one, with a high of 75 and a low of 50 degrees, and partly cloudy skies. I'm looking forward to the first day of Spring! Carry, or Coincidence

Image
Carry, or coincidence? You want me to carry a coincidence? "Wait, what...?" "How do you carry a coincidence?" "Umm....I don't know...?" : / So this is a story about Pete who was told in school, by his third grade teacher, Mrs. Realsmart, that he needed to carry a coincidence! "Carry a Coincidence?" asked Pete to himself, out loud. "Umm....what?" Asked Pete's third grade teacher Mrs. Realsmart "Did you just ask me to carry a coincidence?" Asked Pete "No...I said what a coincidence. We both had the same carry on's!" Retorted Mrs. Realsmart "Ok!" Said Pete still confused, wanting to go home, his attention somewhere else..... That was the story of Pete being told to carry a coincidence by his third grade teacher, Mrs. Realsmart. Written for Josie Two Shoe's "Two Shoes Tuesday." Another Big Ice Storm Hits Houston!

Image
A tree limb fell, sometime during the early morning and took out our Comcast cable line. Late last night another ice storm passed though Houston, TX. It was a weird storm, there was loud thunder with cloud to ground lightning, with heavy rain/ maybe freezing rain, and maybe some sleet. I don't know if I there was any sleet, or not, I saw some white balls in some of the pictures that I took last night, and this early morning, so maybe it was sleet. I also heard that there were some reports of hail during those thunderstorms that passed through Houston. I didn't see any hail, but there might have been some. So Houston got, severe thunderstorms, cloud to ground lightning, loud thunder, hail, torrential rain/ maybe freezing rain, ice, and maybe sleet, all in one night! A Very strange way to start off March! Side note: One thing that I thought was strange with this ice storm is that I didn't see any ice hanging from the roof of my house this time, like when H...

Joined The A to Z Challenge!

Image
I've decided to sign up for the A to Z Challenge in April, where I'll have to make a post each day for each letter of the day. The A to Z challenge is in alphabetical order from A to Z and each day, except Sunday, i'll have to make a post starting with the letter of that day. So on the first day i'll have to write a post starting with the letter a, and then on the second day starting from the letter b, and the third day c, and so on.... I am really looking forward to this challenge! I've been wanting to do the April A to Z challenge ever since I first heard about it a couple of years ago and this year, I am going to try it! I hope I can keep up! Click this link to sign up!  http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/

Crunch!

Image
I've never liked to hear things get crunched and I cringe every time I drive and I hear something crunch under my wheels, hoping it's not an animal. But something's that I do like that crunch are snow boots crunching in a thick pile of snow... http://mnprairieroots.com/2012/01/ And Crunchies! http://dinnerat3.blogspot.com/ They are very good European chocolates, from my aunt that lives in London, I think. I like them alot! Joining Josie Two Shoes in her Two Shoes Tuesday, click the link to join in, or see other entries.  http://www.josie2shoes.com/

Toy Cars And a New Computer!

Image
Look at all of my toy cars! I was just organizing them before I put them into a different box, but I had to move them a little early to make some roof for my new computer! So back into the box they went! I've always wanted to arrange my toy cars like this since I was a kid, when I would see them arranged like this in toy car collector magazines and books, I thought it looked pretty cool. Anyway I had to get a new computer because my laptop's screen finally went out and it was becoming slow. It would sometimes take couple of minutes to load a webpage, so I knew I had to get a new computer. I got a Lenovo from Microcenter. It's refurbished, but it looks and works like new. Microcenter also gives you a keyboard and mouse, but it doesn't come with a monitor unless you want one, but it will cost you  a little extra. The whole computer with keyboard and mouse cost a hundred dollars with thirty dollar shipping, very cheap and works better than my laptop.  The rea...

A Nice Warm Week Ahead!

Well after those series of cold fronts and winter storms, Houston's weather is back to normal with high temperatures back in the 70's, this week. I hope it lasts! : )

Cherishing Chocolate!

Image
One thing that I cherish are my mom's chocolate cakes that she makes for us on our birthdays and on occasional special days. In face I must cherish them so much, that I forgot to take a picture of it. That must mean how much I like it! I like my mom's chocolate cakes so much that I ate it all before I had a chance to take a picture. I couldn't find a picture of it anywhere on my computer, I thought I had taken picture of it. That's why I had to draw a picture of it. Joining Joise in her Two Shoes Tuesdays, click the link to join in, or see other entries.  http://www.josie2shoes.com/

Surprise Sleet Showers in East Texas!

Image
(Sorry there might not be sound, the video quality is not to great.) Houston and most of east Texas, got some surprising sleet and snow showers today. It wasn't that surprising since the weather forecasters have been talking about it all week, but they weren't sure if any precipitation was going to form, or not and if the precipitation did occur, if it would fall down as snow, or sleet, so it was a surprise. The sleet pellets were really big too! At around 6:20 am, when the first sleet shower started to pass through my house, I thought that the sleet might have been freezing rain, or maybe ice pellets, but when I ran outside I saw that it was sleet that was falling. The sleet was as hard as ice, but as bright as snow. The sleet drops looked bigger than I remember, back when Houston got a sleet storm back in December, 2004. Which made me wonder at first if it was sleet, or just ice pellets, but it was sleet! I'm glad that it was sleet. I've bee...

Tail, or Time!

Image
I want to write a tail, or should I write about time? I will write a tale..... Simon was a cat who lived inside his owner's house for twenty cat years, when his owner had suddenly left somewhere, but he didn't know where, he just packed a suitcase and left. A couple of weeks had gone by, still no sign of his owner. All Simon had left was his owner's family who fed him and gave him water. During those few weeks that Simon's owner was gone, Simon had thought that he had heard his owner's voice coming from a small black box that he had sometimes seen his owner talk into. Simon could barely understand the conversation, but it seemed to be something about his water bowl and making sure it had enough water in it. Simon was on high alert now, no not the water bowl! What did they want to do with it??? Simon spent a whole three days worrying about his water bowl and wondering if the water was going to some day run out. "Why did they need to worry about it, the...

More Winter Weather on The Way?

PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 448 AM CST SUN FEB 2 2014/ DISCUSSION... AT 10Z/4AM...COLD FRONT JUST NW OF A KCXO/KDWH/KTME LINE. AHEAD OF THE FRONT TEMPS ARE IN THE MID 60S WITH DEWPOINT TEMPS ABOUT THAT MUCH. BEHIND THE FRONT KCLL/KUTS REPORTING TEMPS IN THE UPPER 40S. THE EXPECTATION IS FOR TEMPS TO CONTINUE TO DROP AS THE FRONT PUSHES THROUGH SE TX AND OFF THE UPPER TX COAST. SUSPECT THAT MUCH OF THE AREA WILL HAVE TEMPS IN THE 40S BY AFTERNOON WITH SHALLOW COLD ADVECTION. COLD FRONT SHOULD SLOWLY REACH HOUSTON AREA AROUND 16Z OR 10AM AND THEN THE COAST AROUND 18Z OR 12PM. EXPECT AREAS OF FOG TO STICK AROUND UNTIL FRONT PUSHES THROUGH. DENSE SEA FOG MAY LINGER THROUGH THE MORNING ALONG THE COAST. THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH MOISTURE FOR SCT SHOWERS ACROSS THE AREA SO LIKE 60 POPS. LATEST TRENDS IN HRRR SUPPORT THIS NOTION WITH GENERALLY 0.1-0.25 INCHES OF PRECIP. MAY BE SOME ISO HALF INCH AMOUNTS OF RAIN WHERE SHOWERS TRAIN ACROSS SOME OF THE SAME AREAS. POSSIBLE THAT ACTIV...

Winter Storm Leon

Image
So, winter storm Leon is gone, nothing much happened, but I did get to see some sleet, but, there were no snow accumulations. Well maybe next winter. That's ok I don't think Houston would do good with snow. Houston is not used to snow and ice. Luckily the roads weren't as icy this time. I think they had more time to de-ice the roads this time. It looks like they got it bad over in Atlanta. They had about 3 inches of snow and everybody got stuck in traffic, that's not fun. Well it doesn't look like we are going to get any more winter storms this week. We even got some days with highs in the 70's. I feel sorry for all of y'all in the north that are battling the cold. I hope it warms up for y'all real soon. Spring is about two months away! Well that will do it for winter storm Leon. I don't think Houston will be getting anymore winter storms any time soon, so that will do it for now. Until next time! Signing off, see y...

Pain And Gain

Image
With my first T-shirt design submitted, I was happily working on many different designs, but when I submitted them they were right away declined, I kept on submitting, reworking and re-submitting my designs, but they kept on getting declined, so after about a couple of weeks of getting declined submissions, I started to feel some pain, but from that pain became gain. I learned that I didn't need to worry about getting my designs submitted and that I can enjoy the artwork that I made even if others didn't. So I created a new blog called Joseph'sweirdart@ http://josephsweirdart.blogspot.com/ where I can show and share my designs and enjoy the artwork that I made. The above drawings are called Living in Paradise, which is my latest design, that has been constantly declined. The first drawing at the top of the page is my first drawing of Living in Paradise and the last drawing is my latest drawing of Living in Paradise. I am still working on it and am hoping t...
