Snow Chaser: My Search For Snow!

Video of heavy snow near Johnson City, TX

I got to see some snow yesterday. I drove from Houston to Llano, TX, where I started to see some snow. I had gotten tired once I got to Llano, TX and decided to turn around. On the way back I stopped at a gas station in, or near Johnson city, TX to rest. As I was approaching Johnson city, heavy started to fall. You can see the video I took of the snow above. It took me about 5 hours to get to Llano, TX and about 5 hours for me to drive back to Houston. I wasn't really sure how to get there, but that's ok because I had my gps! It told me where to go.

It was a long drive. I was really tired and needed sleep when I got home.

  1. We're up to 12-14" (more on the ski slopes) & counting at present, up here on Vermont's Canadian border, the area commonly referred to as The Northeast Kingdom, home of the fur-bearing laketrout and the biligual stopsign.

  2. Well, we have lots of snow this year, and as you hop down to see snow- yeah, I'd drive to no snow for a while! Funny how that goes right!

  3. How exciting that you got to see the snow, Joseph, and experience driving in it. It can be nerve wracking once it starts sticking and the roads get slippery, so I'm glad you got home safely (though tired). Cool video you took too!

    1. Thanks ya, the roads were slick; i'm not sure if it was from the snow, or rain because it was drizzling before it started to snow and the snow didn't seem to be sticking to the ground. Thanks! : )

  4. Snow! We had a bit on Thursday night and I loved it. Not often you will have a chance to drive those new wheels in snow! We love our GPS(s) too, one in each vehicle and of course on our iPhones as well. WOuldn't ever be without them again, so much easier than maps or asking for directions! Glad you got to take your road trip and arrived home safe and ready for some zzz's. How much longer before you have to return to school?

  5. Stopping by from SWS glad you got to see some and get home safely I just wrecked my car from the icy roads if it would have just snowed maybe it would have had a better out come but oh well cars are replaceable people are not and we weren't hurt except for my pride and now the narrow frozen road to town scares me but I am trying to keep getting back on the horse and drive it . Stay safe and how exciting on your class.

    1. Ya I had had a parking accident recently and my confidence had been shaken. I had to back in and out of the parking lot about 10 times because I was afraid I would hit something. That's true! Glad you were ok! It's not easy getting back on the road after you've had an accident. I will, thanks!
